PU FOAM (POLYURETHANE FOAM)
1. Introduction
PU foam is a high-performance technical foam material synthesized from polyester foam and polyether foam based on polyurethane (PU). It features an open-cell structure, providing excellent elasticity and superior mechanical strength.
Thanks to the use of special PU raw materials, PU foam offers outstanding properties:
- High mechanical strength and long service life
- Excellent elasticity with fast shape recovery
- Low wear during continuous operation
- Non-oxidizing, non-rotting when exposed to water
- Stable performance in humid environments and harsh operating conditions

3. Applications
In technical ceramics and sanitary ware manufacturing, high-grade PU foam is widely used due to its stable elasticity, water resistance, non-rotting characteristics, low wear, and long service life.
A. Forming & Green Body Handling
- Cushioning support for green bodies during handling and transportation
- Lining for molds and worktables to prevent scratches and cracks
- Light shape adjustment for curved areas and edges
B. Smoothing & Cold Finishing
- Surface smoothing of green bodies
- Base foam for fine grinding pads, burr removal, and mold joint correction
- Reduced contact pressure for uniform surfaces and minimized sharp-edge defects
C. Glazing & Surface Finishing
- Removal of excess glaze; cleaning edges, drain holes, and technical grooves
- Creation of surface effects for special and effect glazes
- Resistant to degradation in humid, water-based, and glaze chemical environments
